3DS and Wii U games not yet available on Nintendo Switch - Complete Database (in progress)

This is an attempt at creating a complete database of all 3DS and Wii U games that didn't make the cut to the Switch (from Nintendo masterpieces to shovelware).
As it stands, the "raw data", consisting of just the list of the last-gen non-Switch games, is already gathered. This is, however, still a working progress as much more can be done, for example classify the games in categories such as "Third Party", "Indie Gem", "Shovelware", among others. Other information such as each game's developer would also enrich this list.
The idea behind this list is manly software preservation, because someday the other consoles' eShops will close and similarly to the Wii Shop channel some games may be lost, and with this database we know which of the bunch are not "safe" on Switch. But this is also a matter of consistency across Nintendo platforms, hence the inclusion of games with physical version. The Switch is such an amazing and successful console that, in my opinion (and of many here in this sub), it would be amazing if virtually every game was ported to it (or at least every Nintendo related one) .
There is some subjectivity in this selection of games, because we didn't include games that already have a improved version on the Switch (games that include the vast majority of the base game content), so for example Smash 4 is not here, because almost everything it had to offer is replicated in Ultimate. In the other hand, Mario Kart 7 is in fact listed, because very few of it's tracks are represented in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
The criteria used are as follows:
- Every original 3DS game not on Switch is featured
- If a game is in both 3DS and Wii U but not in Switch, it appears listed as 3DS game (because the 3DS outlived the Wii U and probably so will it's eShop)
- Every original Wii U game not on 3DS and not on Switch is featured
- This searched is based on the PAL games of the consoles and in Nintendo's official website
- If a game has a port/enhanced version/remake announced for the Nintendo Switch (e.g. Super Mario 3D World) it is off the list.
--

The idea of this post is creating this database together as a fun little fan project, seeing as it is incomplete and can have a much better organization and presentation that it has as of this moment.

Possible improvements/updates:
- Adding the other regions (NA and Japan)
- Tag the games as "Indie Gem", "Shovelware"...
- Associate to each game a possible reason for why the port hasn't happened yet (e.g. extinct developer, technical difficulties, irrelevance, etc...)
- Group the numbers in graphs or other more pleasant presentation
- Create dream ports to Switch (a favorite of this sub :) ) based on the games yet to port (not only of a simple game like Xenoblade Chronicles X for Switch but for example: Etrian Odyssey Collection, based on the fact that there are a bunch of games from that series "stuck" on the 3DS)

Well here it goes:

Legend:
N = Made/Published by Nintendo
TP = Third Party with physical version
IG = Indie Gem (subjective)

Debunking the Stardust Crusaders Plothole Claim
The shonen anime “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure presents an interesting dilemma. A man by the name of Jotaro Kujo and his fellow crusaders must travel across the world, from Hong Kong to Cairo, to defeat a man named DIO. DIO carries a curse which causes all members of the Joestar bloodline to receive a stand. A stand is an ethereal projection of one’s mental image. The problem is, only people strong enough to bear a horrible sickness may possess one. Either you overcome the sickness, or you die. As a gentle, loving widow who would never hurt a fly, Holly Kujo, Jotaro’s mother, seems to be falling under the latter fate. The only way to stop her from dying is to kill DIO. Naturally, DIO seeks to prevent this from happening. He does this by sending a cast of bounty hunter stand users to kill the Crusaders. The entire show consists of the Crusaders and their many fights against the countless stand users. The 25 stand users in order of appearance are: Tower of Grey, Dark blue Moon, Strength, Ebony Devil ,Yellow Temperance, The Emperor, Hanged Man, The Empress, Wheel of Fortune, Justice, The Lovers, The Sun, Death 13, Judgement, High Priestess, Geb, Khnum, Tohth, Anubis, Bast, Set, Osiris, , Horus, Atum, and Cream. What many people say is that the only reason why the Crusaders succeeded was that the stand users were presented to them one by one. If all of DIO’s army were to attack at once, the crusaders would have been easily defeated. There are three main problems to debunk this argument. First I will list each Crusader (excluding Iggy, as this takes place before the Crusaders recruited Iggy) and their stands and abilities. Jotaro Kojo wields Star Platinum, a stand with incontestable strength, speed, observation skills, and precision. I will not include timestop because that only becomes active once DIO is encountered. He has another ability, Star Finger, which shoots any of his fingers out faster than a bullet at an immense force, concentrating all his power into one finger. Joseph Joestar’s stand is Hermit Purple, which lets him create images though various mediums like dust and cameras. It’s not much for combat, but it can restrain and grant extra mobility via swinging. Noriaki Kakyoin’s stand is Hierophant Green, which can turn itself into string and use it in a variety of ways. It’s secondary ability is to concentrate energy into liquid gemstone, launching a volley of emeralds at a high speed to hit a target. This ability is called the Emerald Splash. Jean Pierre Polnareff uses Silver Chariot, a durable armored humanoid that attacks with inhuman precision and force with its sword. It can remove its armor to become faster than light and shoot its blade at around the same speed. Mohammed Avdol uses Magician’s Red. This is a muscular humanoid with a falcon head. It can manipulate fire in any way it pleases, being able to melt metal with ease and even seek out life.
The first thing people fail to consider is that fighting-wise, a great many of these stand users are not viable in a team or group setting. This would be because many offensive stands are more well suited for one on one or one on two battles. It would be troublesome or impossible for their comrades to fight the crusaders with the other abilities in the way. The stands that come to mind when keeping this in mind are: Wheel of Fortune, Justice, The Sun, Death 13, Set, and Cream. I’ll explain each of these stands, their abilities, and why they would be detrimental to the other fighters. Wheel of Fortune is an activated ability that, to put it simply, upgrades cars. In the episode he appears in, ZZ, WoF’s user, takes a dingy, beat up old car and makes it into a killing machine. It gains the ability to shoot gasoline bullets, climb walls, and grow other offensive tools from its frame. The issue with this stand is that in the setting that the fight is taking place, there would be nowhere for the car to go. It becomes massive and bulky, made to chase a singular target with no regard for terrain or obstacles. With the numerous other users in the way, ZZ runs the risk or hitting or tearing them apart. Justice is a semi-remote controlled cloud of fog that allows possession of victims inside the fog. This works great in any one versus all scenario. The hitch is that if any other users were to get as much as a single scratch, as stated by the user Enyaba, their entire body would be rendered useless. The Sun is a very unique stand, and probably the most situational. The Sun’s ability is to make a literal ball of lit gas, simulating our own sun. The only way that Arabia Fats, the user, was able to pose a threat to the Crusaders was to firstly, hide from them all the way into the middle of the desert, set up an invisibility room with an entire cooling system, and then summon The Sun in the sky to roast them alive. Again, the problem here is that it would affect every other stand user within a 100 mile radius. The Sun produces a lethal amount of heat with little to no directional input. The next stand I will be discussing is Death 13. Death 13 is a stand that is able to create a dream world that it’s user, Mannish Boy, can freely control. If anyone falls asleep in Death 13’s range, they are essentially trapped in Mannish Boy’s own lucid dream. At first glance, the ability seems overpowered, but in the setting we are looking at, the probability that any of the Crusaders would fall asleep while fighting the entirety of DIO’s army is close to zero. Alessi’s stand, Set, is next. Set takes the form of Alessi’s shadow. It can be controlled to a degree, having only the range of Alessi’s current shadow. Set’s ability is to rapidly de-age any organic life that comes into contact with the shadow. This is shown when Polnareff touches the shadow for a fraction of a second. This results in him reverting back into a boy of approximately 7-8 years of age. For context, before coming in contact with the shadow, he was 22 years old. A middle-aged woman who touched the shadow for around seven seconds was reverted completely into a fetus not old enough to even have been born. Once again, Alessi would run the risk of touching his comrades, not only majorly decreasing their strength, fighting prowess, and intelligence, but eliminating their stands. They were all recruited by DIO recently after being pierced by the Stand-Giving Arrow, meaning that if they were touched for even a microsecond, they would have lost their stands and become ordinary humans. The Crusaders would then become incontestable to them. The final user that would pose a threat to his team is Ice’s stand, Cream. Cream is, in essence, the absence of space. It takes the form of a skeletal behemoth with a large mouth. When Ice needs to attack or hide, Cream begins to eat Ice and itself, with the consumed matter disappearing within its mouth. Eventually, Ice and Cream cease to exist, becoming a ball of nothing. It flies around completely erasing anything it touches without a trace with extreme precision. Ice’s predicament lies in the fact that while he is in a state of nonexistence, he cannot see or otherwise sense anything around him. In the heat of a battle, it would be impossible to judge where anyone is in order to know who to avoid. All it would take is a single touch to the edge of Cream to annihilate any trace of what once was. That finishes off the list of the non-team playing stands, bringing us to our next set of users.
The next group of stands and their users are the ones that would be, to be frank, useless outside of the environments they were supposed to be encountered in. These stands are: Dark Blue Moon, Strength, High Priestess, Khnum, Tohth, Anubis, and Bast. These stands are all similar in that they all required a very specific event to occur which wouldn’t have happened had the Crusaders been attacked early on. Dark Blue Moon is an aquatic stand that is extremely powerful underwater, having fast speed, amazing killing power, and excellent range of vision. The obstacle is that he is only fast underwater. On land, he is clumsy, slow, and very little of a threat, like a fish out of water. Strength is, true to the name of the show, one of the most bizarre stands you could manifest, which could be because it came from the mind of an ape. Strength is a massive yacht; every aspect of which can be controlled by Forever, the user, who happens to be a monkey. Strength only posed a threat to the Crusaders because they were stuck on the ship in the middle of the ocean, with no hope of escaping otherwise. Even if the battle were to occur in a harbor with Strength right next to them, it lacks the range to even get near to the Crusaders. Next is the High Priestess, a stand which can be controlled from extremely far away by its user, Midler. The High Priestess can assimilate itself into any form of inorganic matter, such as rock, metal, or plastic. It took advantage of this by trapping the Crusaders in a massive mouth created from a mountain deep underground. This is what made it intimidating in the first place; without any medium to assimilate itself into, it has very little combat ability, with its only skills being fast speed and the ability to create weapons. Its base form is extremely small and skinny, rendering it helpless if caught by any of the Crusaders. Khnum and Tohth are two stands wielded by the Oingo Boingo Brothers. They were used in unison against unaware opponents, combining divination and trickery to imperil the Crusaders. They were dangerous only when not made aware of, and in the end, their attack failed without even being noticed by their targets. Khnum’s ability is to mold Oingo’s face, voice, and even smell to mimic anyone. However, it cannot mimic stands, which is easily counterable when you realize that without the element of uncertainty, Oingo is just a normal man. His brother Boingo’s stand, Tohth, is a manga that predicts the future. But that is the extent of its usage. It can only tell the future, not change it. The brothers looked to it for guidance on killing the Crusaders, but it turned out to be their undoing, misleading them into first blowing up Oingo, disfiguring him, and then causing Boingo to be attacked by a dog. The entire stand in general served the brothers their end. Anubis was an ancient stand, unique in that it had no user. It was an old egyptian scimitar covered in strange designs. It worked by possessing anyone who held it, controlling them and channeling its incredible swordsmanship into them. If the Crusaders hadn’t come into contact with it on their journey to DIO, it would still be laying in the small town in Cairo, never knowing of their existence. Bast is the final character in this list. Mariah’s stand was a surprisingly simple one when it came down to it, being able to magnetize anything it touches. She was able to put Joseph and Avdol in danger by making them both opposite poles, sticking them together hopelessly. The problem with this is that the Bast’s magnetism is activated when someone touches an outlet that Mariah creates. The Crusaders would have had to feel the need to touch an outlet, and the other users would have to avoid it completely. Even if she had managed to magnetize a Crusader, even small objects like shirt buttons, glasses, piercings, and watches would be forcibly attracted to him, putting her teammates at a disadvantage. Next, we move on to the miscellaneous stands that would also be somewhat useless, but for different reasons.
These stands are extremely powerful, but would all be defeated easily for a plethora of reasons. These stands would be: Ebony Devil, The Emperor, Judgement, Geb, Osiris, and Atum. Ebony Devil takes the form of a doll whose strength is fueled by the grudge held by its user, Devo. It almost killed Polnareff by tying him down where he couldn't be seen, and setting him on fire. It was only able to do this because Polnareff had directly and seriously harmed Devo. Avdol had previous knowledge of Ebony Devil because he was a famed assassin. Avdol would be aware of who he was, and would have instructed that no harm come to the Devo, providing no fuel for his stand. Another way to defeat him would be to kill him instantly, via snapping his neck with Star Platinum. Next is the Emperor. The Emperor is a gun wielded by Hol Horse. Hol Horse used it somewhat inefficiently, botching three attempts at the Crusaders’ lives. He lacks intelligence and power. We are shown that Star Platinum is able to see even the smallest discrepancy in almost anything, being shown to catch D’Arby cheating while dealing cards. It was also able to catch a bullet coming from a gun two inches away from Jotaro’s head. A bullet from a range like Hol Horse’s would be easily caught and countered. Judgement was a stand that almost won because of a lack of caution on Polnareff’s part. It works in the same way traditional D’jinns do, by granting wishes in a twisted and undesirable fashion. Nobody in the group would be dumb enough to humor this stand in the heat of battle. If anyone was, a smarter individual would warn against it. Without anybody to twist wishes for, Judgement becomes completely useless. Two other stands present a similar case to this one, which I’ll get to later. Geb was a stand commanded by N’Doul, a blind traveler with a ridiculous auditory sense. From miles away in the middle of a desert, N’Doul was able to track exactly where each and every crusader was based on their footsteps. Geb is an aquatic hand that functions just like a human hand, with the properties of both a solid and a liquid. His shortcoming is that he needs to stay stationary and touch the ground to hear, making him an easy target. Another thing would be that he cannot keep track of dozens of people at once, being overwhelmed by the shuffling and running of the battle. Osiris and Atum are commanded by the D’Arby brothers, both masters of the game. Osiris and Atum work by encapsulating their victims’ souls in poker chips and dolls, respectively. The problem is that in order to do that, they need to beat their opponent at poker or a video game, also respectively. It should be obvious why their stands would be useless in a massive battle like this. That wraps up every stand that would not be able to participate in the battle without prevalently impairing the other users.
Now we are left with the users who are able to fight the Crusaders with a fairly even chance: Tower of Grey, Yellow Temperance, Hanged Man, The Empress, the Lovers, and Horus. Tower of Grey is an extremely fast flying beetle, its capabilities exceeding that of even Hierophant Green, being able to dodge the Emerald Splash. Its main method of killing is flying into someone’s head and removing their tongue. The shortcoming of Tower of Grey is that it must be near its user, Gray Fly, a feeble old man. This would cause him to be easily taken out, as his range is very short and he must stay near the fight. Yellow Temperance is a mold that is impossible to remove and slowly eats away at flesh. It also lets its user, Rubber Soul, shapeshift down to even the voice of the target. Again, like Khnum, it cannot mimic stands. Yellow Temperance would, in my opinion, pose a threat against the Crusaders. They would need to observe closely and get Rubber Soul to accidentally lose his hold on YT. Next is The Hanged Man. This stand appears solely in reflections. It can hide in any reflection, from a person’s eye to the bumper of a car. Its weakness is that if there is no light, it must leave the object, and it is slightly visible each time it exits a reflection. The Crusaders would have to figure this out first, and plan accordingly. Hanged Man also is a formidable threat in this fight. The Empress was a stand that grows extremely slowly out of a bite until it is humanoid and strong enough to kill whoever it is attached to. One problem with her is that because she takes a while to be strong enough to kill, she could be killed quickly by a precision strike, like Star Finger. The Empress took advantage of being on Joseph’s arm and his weakness in the other arm to try and cut one of his neck arteries because he was alone. She poses little threat in this scenario. The Lovers is a microscopic, parasitic, lobster like stand that plagues anyone who gives it access inside of them. The main ability of the Lovers is amplified damage reflection. If someone throws a rock at Steely Dan, the user, that same damage will be amplified tenfold at whoever The Lovers is inside. He does, however, still take the damage that was given to him. This provides Dan immunity for the duration of the fight if he manages to enter a Crusader with The Lovers. In order to deal with Dan, the battle must be completed quickly and he needs to be saved for last. The last big threat would be Horus. Horus has the most mobility against the Crusaders, being able to fly. Horus is a massive falcon whose stand encompasses his body and serves as a Susanoo of sorts. Horus is extremely intelligent, rivaling a human's mental capacity. Horus’s main ability is ice manipulation. He can “upgrade” his beak and talons by enhancing them with ice shards and create ice out of thin air. The degree to which he can make ice is very great, being large enough to crush cars and freeze ocean water. Most of his attacks are ranged, flying over a large distance to reach his opponents. The ice is so cold that it can even drop the temperature around it even in the heat of Egypt. Horus poses a massive threat to the Crusaders, being that in this scenario they have never met Iggy. It would take the combined restrictive efforts of Kakyoin and Joseph to keep Horus under control. Horus would be the most difficult to deal with out of all the stand users. An argument you could make is that I am only assuming that the battle takes place in person up close, and that many users could attack from far away. This is true to a degree. Only a select few users could attack remotely, and most remote stands are not very precise, risking attacking their comrades. The majority of stand users need to be up close and personal because of their stands’ range and ability. These are my thoughts on why the Stardust Crusaders could potentially defeat DIO’s army.
To put it short, my life is a jojoke

Stardust Crusaders but Really Fast

Three men try to open dio's coffin.
Dio breaks out of coffin yelling AAAAAAAAAAAAAH
It turned out that DIO, DIO DIO DIO DIODIODIO
Old joseph joestar runs while panting
Joseph: SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT *hits man* SOMETHING IS QUI-
Plane
More joseph running and panting
Joseph: GET OUT
Jotaro: No
Joseph: GET OUT! *Throws avdol at the cell
Jotaro: If i get out i will kill you with this *star platinum appears* funky purple dude who keeps conveniently giving me everything i want. Soda RC car gun. *attempts to shoot self but star platinum grabs the bullet. Okay not doing that one again that was a little stupid
*Magicians red melts bars*
Avdol: Get out!
Jotaro: *gets out* Alright that's it you're-
Holly: Yaaaaaayyyyy~!
Joseph: Good job avdol!
Jotaro: What a bother
Joseph: Alright so your funky purple dude is whats known as a stand and they are the physical manifestations of the fighting spirit and all have weirdly specific special and/or situational abilities. So only stand users can see other stands
Except for when they don't
Joseph: Only stands can harm other stands
Except for when they don't
Joseph: And all damage done to a stand will reflect to the user
Except for when they don't!
Joseph: You need to pay attention and remember these new rules because NOTHING will make sense from now on otherwise
Jotaro: Cool
Mohammed Avdol's Magician's red: Shoots fire ~~But it's like, invisible fire because it's stand fire so only stand users can see the fire, also there's like 70 different named attacks he uses with varying degrees of frequency- Including like, there's a compass thing he uses once and doesn't really do anything and immediately dies after using- Oh oops wait you're not supposed to know that yet~~
Joseph: My stand is Hermit Purple and my ability activates when i punch a camera WA-HAHH! *Punches camera with his fist covered in vines*
Jotaro: How did you figure that one out
Joseph: Trial and error
Joseph joestars Hermit purple. Punch a camera see a naked man
*Insert picture of dio with a star birthmark and a fly next to him*
Avdol: There he is!
Joseph: It's DIO! He was about to take over the world but then my grandfather Jonathan Joestar killed him except he didn't actually because DIO stole Jonathan's body and i can tell because he's got the star birthmark everybody in the joestar lineage definitely always had including me, You my daughter holly, and you my granson Jotaro
Holly & Jotaro: Wow i somehow never noticed
Joseph: It is your destiny to defeat DIO! and mine! It is both our destinies. Not yours- *pushes holly away* To defeat DIO, and he will be beaten, and-
Jotaro: Oh my god i don't care
Kakyoin: *Hierophant green comes out from behind Kakyoin* I Kakyoin have been sent here by DIO to defeat-
Jotaro: OHH greeat is this what we're doing then *Star platinum punches kakyoin really really hard sending him flying into a tv*
Noriaki Kakyoin's Heriophant Green: I guess he possesses a body that one time but he mostly just shoots rocks
Jotaro: Okay so i guess since we're all doing tarot cards for stand names. I will assert myself as one who passes judgement on others, thus i shall name my stand-
Avdol: YOU GET THIS ONE *Throws the star 17 tarot card at jotaro*
Star platinum: SUTAA PURACHINA
Jotaro: Uhhh Star Platinum it is then
Jotaro Kujo's Star Platinum: Punchy boy ~~And then some~~
Kakyoin: Look i know we got off on the wrong foot but i was being possessed by this DIO forehead squid would you mind if i became a main character?
Jotaro: Whatever
Joseph: Oh no! Holly's developing a stand but it's killing her!
Holly: Mild cough fever headrush dainty swoon faint! *Faints onto a bed*
Holly Kujo's Who Cares: ...I can't possibly explain this without sounding sexist
Joseph: Not that this will make any sense in the greater canon but we need to save her by getting rid of her stand and we do that by killing DIO! ...Probably. I can feel it it's in my blood or whatever.
Jotaro: As the old adage goes, he cannot be beaten up unless I am standing next to him... ...Unless... Unless I am close to him... Okay bad read don't worry i'll think up something more clever.
THEY FOUND IT IT'S THE FLY
Advol: It's the fly!
Joseph: Let's go to Egypt!
Advol Jotaro Kakyoin: Yes!
Plane
Dio:I HAVE USED MY OWN CAMERA PUNCHING ABILITY AND DISCOVERED THEY ARE ON A PLANE GOING IN MY DIRECTION GOOD THING I ALREADY PUT A SABOTEUR ON THAT PLANE WHICH I GUESS MEANS I KNEW IN ADVANCE THEY WERE GOING TO GO ON THAT PLANE MEANING I DIDN'T NEED TO PUNCH THIS EXPENSIVE CAMERA WHAT WASTE OF MONEY I WILL NOW PROCEED TO NEVER USE THIS ABILITY AGAIN AND HAVE SEX AT LEAST FOUR PEOPLE.
Advol Kakyoin: It's the fly!
Gray fly: I hope it doesn't say "Massacare" on the wall AAAAA *stab*.
Gray Fly's Tower of Gray:Not actually a fly *Plane crash*
Joseph: This was a huge waste of time we almost killed like 70 people.
Jotaro: This is a;; your fault i'm never going on a plane again.
Kakyoin: Hey break it up you two-.

I met northernlion today...

So 3 friends a dog and I were in egypt trying to cure my mothers illness when I spotted northernlion at a bar. Knowing that this might be a once in a life opportunity I approached him and started to make my introduction.
"Sorry I dont speak japanese" he said
"Nani?" I replied and tried to keep talking but he would keep interupting me by saying huh huh huh over and over again. At this point I was stunned to say the least but then things took a turn for the worse. I walked to another seat at the bar and ordered a few drinks for my friends and I which we gulped down quickly.
One of my friends (Also a northernlion fan) noticed him sitting there and went up to talk to him. Pretty soon he had gotten my friend to gamble for his soul (weird I know). So E-sports superstar Northern wins and packs my friends soul into a poker chip right in front of my eyes.
By this point I am furious and bring my stand out to take him down but he stops me and tells me that if I kill him I wont be able to get my friend back. My grandpa takes me by the shoulder and challenges Northernlion to gamble.
NL puts his hand up and tells him to take a plate of assorted pastas and walk down the street up the stairs to the front gate of a temple down the street if we wanted our friend back. My grandpa accepts and begins to carefully walk down the street carrying the plate. As he proceeded up the stairs a child grabbed his leg and pulled him down. He feel down the stairs and ravioli on him.
Northernlion just stared emotionlessly at the scene and began to pack my grandpas soul into another poker chip. 2 friends had been lost and I was running out of options so I challenged Northern to an isaac card game match.
He smirked since he knew he could easily beat me with all his hours in the game. After a long battle I raised my own soul and everyone I knew souls. I could tell NL was visibly shaking by this point. He thought he had the game in the bag and was trying to piece together how I could possibly think I could win.
"I dont have anything to call your raise with" He said teeth clattering.
"Your isaac series should be worth enough. If I win you retire isaac on your channel"
"B-but that would be career suicide" He stammered. As he glanced up at me I pulled out a fruit punch out of midair and was sipping on it.
He then spent the better part of a minute trying to say the word call before he slumped over the table exhausted and out of breath. He had folded. I revealed my cards and I had garbage not even the most skilled player could have beaten him at that point.
"Y-you bet so much on a bluff" he stuttered.
"Look again" I said
Glancing back at the table he saw a card he had missed before. A rock with a faint X on it with a description that read "If you hold this card you win the game"
Upon seeing this Northernlion slumped over onto the ground and fainted. Soon after my friends reverted back to their original forms and we continued on our journey.
All and all he was a pretty cool guy.

Kent Vernon Nelson was bored. So bored.
Math class was certainly not his forte, and the quadratic formula on the board made relatively no sense. It probably didn’t help that he wasn’t exactly paying attention to Mrs. Strauss, as his mind was somewhere else.
He had started school recently, and as if being the new kid and trying to fit in more wasn’t enough of an issue, he was taking extra lessons. His grandfather had finally agreed to allow him to use the helmet more and teach him magic, but he wasn’t allowed to be Fate yet. He even sealed the helmet in a magic box for good measure.
However, his grandfather’s teachings were much more fun and, at least to Kent, better paced than school. He had learned so much about the helmet and the magic that could go with it. He was developing abilities to read people’s intentions, sense magical items, and even read hieroglyphs and Demotic Egyptian. According to his grandfather, that part was apparently due to Nabu’s extensive time in ancient Egypt, but even that was cool to him, and it certainly helped for history papers.
Kent snapped back to attention by a kick to the back of his chair. Sandy, who thankfully was also in Kent’s math class, had a knack for figuring out when Kent wasn’t paying attention. Kent wondered what his tell was, but he never really asked, and Sandy hadn’t really told him. When he finally looked at the board, he realized that Mrs. Strauss had put the assignment on the board. She preferred to have them work out of the practice problems in the book, and she hand-picked which questions to do with every chapter. Kent hurried to write the question numbers down, and thankfully managed to scrawl them all into his notebook before the bell rang. The last thing he wanted was to explain why he was still trying to copy them.
Kent moved into the hallways, following Sandy. In terms of classes, they only really had math and P.E. together, but thankfully they had the same lunch, along with Maya. That was the one time in which they were all together, and probably the most Kent would be social during the whole day. He even got used to the new guy, Eric being around, which was a bit difficult for him at first, but Maya’s extroversion made it a bit easier.
Kent was the first to sit down at the table, as usual. His grandmother always packed his lunch, so he just went straight to the table rather than the cafeteria line, like the other three. He sat down, bringing out the notes from his magic lessons. Kent realized quickly that if he could write the information in hieroglyphs, he could just study them anywhere, without people realizing. He had told Eric and Sandy that he was just really into ancient Egyptian history, which he was, but Maya let her imagination run wild with everything.
“So Kent,” Maya said, being the first through the line and back to the table. “When are we going to find that ancient temple?”
“If I ever see anything about a temple, I’ll let you know,” Kent said, with a smile on his face. Since Kent had never actually answered her questions about what it said, she had always been joking that it would be an Indiana Jones style lost script to a tomb.
“You know, if we did find a temple,” Maya began again, “do you think we would be able to get permission from the school to go on a field trip there?”
Kent knew that Maya pretty much made a comment about it every time he brought it out, but he also knew that when she started asking more questions, it could turn into the whole lunch period. “Probably not, there’s not nearly enough funding.”
“So, like, would we have to go during the summer? Or maybe even like, after we graduate?”
“I suppose.”
“What if someone else found it in the meantime, would we have to prove that we found it first? How could we even do that?”
“I don’t know, documentation I guess,” Kent said, entertaining the idea. “Maybe we could get funding from one of those big museums or corporations or something.”
“You mean like the Smithsonian?” Maya pondered for a bit. “Do you think that Ryan industries would be into it?”
“Probably,” Kent said. “I’ve read that the head of the company is super into occult history, and his wife even has some of Cleopatra’s stuff.”
“Really?”
“I don’t know, probably. I did read it on the internet.”
“But, like where did you read it? On a news site, a tabloid, a video series,” Maya started asking. She seemed really into this company for some reason.
Kent went back to the hieroglyphics. He had just kind of copied them all from one of his grandfather’s tomes, but he wasn’t paying attention at the time. He was able to break it down more and more as he read, learning how the hieroglyphics worked more naturally now, as opposed to just magically.
Kent hit a portion of his notes that was a slightly shorter line, one that had been isolated on the page, so Kent kept a line break on it when he copied it. Now that he was actually looking at it again, he recognized the symbols. The larger bird-like figure in the center of the line stood out to him for some reason, and Kent became aware of the hairs of his neck standing up. After another second, he realized what the line said.
Keep watch.
There was an unmistakable magical feeling in the direction behind Kent. Both the individual character and the phrase were setting off something in his head. Neither feeling was threatening, but it felt like something was wrong. Missing, even.
Kent turned around to find himself staring at the lunch line behind him. More specifically, the portion right before everyone gets their trays, before they can even see the warming trays of food. Kent let his magical sense guide him to two figures, chatting amicably in line. He immediately realized that one of them was Sandy, with her back to him, as he felt the magic beckon to the jacket on her back. The signal was off-putting, but Kent elected to ignore it to follow the stronger feeling.
Kent turned his focus to the person Sandy was talking to, who was facing more toward him. She was blonde, with her hair only coming down to her shoulders. Kent knew she looked familiar, but didn’t register who she was until she looked directly at him.
The girl from the witch store. Her hair was in a much different style, and honestly framed her face much differently. The lack of witch hat also probably had something to do with it.
She was studying him, as he was her. They recognized each other, yes, but Kent knew his expression would be giving away the fact that he was trying to figure out something else. What threw Kent off is that he was getting the same vibe from her. She was studying him, like he was her.
With their conversation stopping, Sandy turned to find where the girl was looking. She easily found Kent, and did some double takes. She then looked at Maya, whose attention had also been caught. A strange staring contest between the four of them held in the air for a moment, until Eric interrupted, blissfully unaware.
“What’s up,” he asked, looking more at his tray than anyone else. He had piled a couple of bags of chips from the vending machine on them, and was attempting not to drop them. Once he finally set his tray down, he looked up to find the awkward looks in the room. “Seriously, what’s happening?”
It took a moment for Kent to break the silence, addressing the blonde girl. “We’ve met before, but forgive me, I don’t remember your name at all.”
He felt the tension lighten immediately, as even the girl somewhat smiled. “Ah, yes, I’m Maddy. Have you been to the Charmer’s Garden?”
Kent’s didn’t need magical senses to feel both Maya’s and Sandy’s reactions. They teased him about it for about three days, but to their credit they did drop it. Now, the situation was right back in front of them, but Kent was determined to not be as weird about it.
“Gotcha, sorry about that, it was just really bothering me that I couldn’t remember.”
“Oh, that’s ok,” Maddy responded, pulling her hair back behind her ear. Kent could feel something off about her reaction, but he couldn’t tell what.
Sandy took a step forward in the line (backwards from how she was standing) and beckoned Maddy to do the same. “You’re more than welcome to join our little table, here, when we get through.”
“Thank you, I think I will take you up on that offer.”
The two in line went to grab their trays as Maya and Kent turned back to the table. They both looked up to find Eric still incredibly confused.
“We went to the mall once and I was acting kind of awkward around her,” Kent said, ripping off the bandage, so to speak. Maya turned to him, slightly shocked he admitted it. Eric looked to Maya for confirmation, and she nodded. “Let’s just leave it there,” Kent said, trying to signal Eric not to talk about it. Kent knew that Eric would take the hint, as he was very understanding about not wanting to talk about things.
The rest of the lunch break was occupied by the five of them sitting around the table, talking about a few different subjects they had been taking. Kent never really got rid of the feeling though. He knew he was missing something, he just didn’t know what.
When Kent and his grandmother got home, Kent immediately began to move to his room to study the magic texts.
“Vernon,” came Inza’s voice. She had resorted to using their middle names to differentiate between them so that they wouldn’t get confused when they were all together. Kent realized his grandfather was probably within earshot if she was saying it right now. “Math first.”
Kent’s face immediately betrayed his emotion of slight disgust. He didn’t like math, and she knew it. He wasn’t horrible at it, but he certainly wasn’t amazing at it either.
“Fine,” he said, trudging to his room defeatedly dragging his backpack.
Inza went into the living room, where she found her husband on a stepladder. He seemed to be replacing the bulb in the ceiling light.
“Did it burn out or break again,” she asked, moving to hold the ladder steady.
“Oh it just burnt out this time, honey,” he said, a grin forming on his face. “He only broke the one, I promise.”
“Is it because we’re not using the helmet?”
“It has to be,” he said, coming down from the ladder. He moved to the wall, flipping the switch to light the room more. “It awakes magical energy in the user, and he is young. Raw power, still working through it.”
“Okay, so when are we giving him the helmet,” she asked.
“When he gets it himself,” he said, pointing to the trunk in the corner. He walked over to the piece, which Inza thought was his old army trunk, and moved the decorative cloth on top to reveal that it was one of the blue trunks he used to have in the tower. “I’ve told him I put it away, and that its magically sealed. If he gets good enough to find and free the helmet, he can use it more.”
Inza’s look of concern stayed on her face. “What if it comes to him.”
“If it comes to him,” he said, looking off a bit into the distance. “We shouldn’t stop it. Because at that point, he’ll probably need it.”
The following Saturday, Kent Vernon Nelson found himself making his way through the mall. He told his grandmother that he wanted to go visit a friend who worked there, and he wasn’t technically lying. She had joined them at lunch for the rest of the week, and it honestly seemed like she was joining there little social group, but he wanted to talk to Maddy privately. His magical senses were still bothering him, and he thought that maybe where she worked would be the best place. If they talked about magic there, it’d seem a lot more commonplace.
As he passed the directory, heading to the Charmer’s Garden, he saw the older lady, who he assumed to be Maddy’s boss, heading in the opposite direction. If Kent had to guess, it was probably for a break of some sort. Perfect timing.
Kent walked into the shop, immediately looking for the shop attendant. He looked around, and right before he called out, he stopped. His magical senses were drawing him back to the bookshelf, toward one of the upper shelves. Kent walked up to the shelf, allowing his eyes to drift towards the top, as they felt they should. He found himself staring at the hieroglyph-titled book toward the top, the same green cover he had wondered about weeks before.
“Keep watch,” came a voice behind him.
Kent turned, somewhat startled by the other person. It was Maddy, standing at the counter, with her arms crossed. She was back in the witch hat, with her hair parted over her face again. Kent thought it made her look a bit more mysterious, like the mystical feeling around her.
“What do you know,” Kent asked moving toward her. He placed his hands in the front pocket of his blue hoodie, attempting to act casual. “Um, about the book.”
Maddy grinned, somewhat of a sly smile. “Neophyte.”
Kent tried not to show emotion. She was exactly correct, from what he understood. It was a term for a fledgling mage, according to his grandfather, and described his skill level better than he would care to admit. He attempted to play off the comment and look confused, “The book is about neophytes?”
Maddy stood up a bit straighter, letting her hands move down to the counter. Her face changed to an expression that Kent couldn’t read easily, but his magical senses told him that she was somewhat… impressed? That couldn’t be it.
The two stared each other down for a moment, not sure of where the conversation was going. Maddy finally broke the silence. “If you had to guess what color your aura is, what would you say.”
“Cool blue,” Kent said, without hesitation. He could feel the confidence in his voice, something that wasn’t usually there.
“Wrong,” Maddy said, moving around the counter. “It’s as green as the book you’re looking at.”
Maddie moved to the bookshelf, grabbing the rolling ladder from the side and started to bring it toward the book. “So you can just see auras then?” Kent asked, following her.
“Yes, ever since I was a toddler,” Maddy said, the grin still on her face. “Yours is a disturbed green, not entirely clean of mind.”
“Are you saying I have a dirty mind?”
“Normally it means that there’s something that you’re trying desperately not to think about.”
Kent stopped. He hadn’t exactly been having nightmares recently, but the haunting feeling came back. It just occurred to him that distracting himself with magic was helping him overcome the feelings, but the immediate reminder of them made him unable to focus. He didn’t want to think about any of the destruction or death.
He tried to keep his face still, but it occurred to him that Maddy could probably read through that, with his aura. He still didn’t know how much that told a person. Is that a general magic thing? Or was she just special?
Maddy descended the small ladder, handing Kent the book softly. She had been able to read him then. Also, when did she climb up to get it? Had he been stunned and not noticed?
“Kent, are you ok?”
He looked back at her, blinking, back to reality. She smiled, and walked back to the counter saying, “you know, I lied a bit before.”
“You did,” Kent said. The confidence in his speech was gone, but he was still in control of his voice. Nothing shaky, that’s good.
“It’s mostly green,” she said, moving to the register. “There’s a light gray around you that flares up when you start to look at magical things.”
“A literal silver lining, then,” Kent said as he followed her down the counter. His humor sounded smooth, at least to him.
“Sure,” she said, looking back at him. “Cash or credit?”
“Cash,” Kent said, bringing out his wallet. He handed her the money, and she finished the transaction with the book, placing it in a paper bag. To Kent, it seemed more artsy and eco-friendly, kind of like the vibe he got from the herbs on the shelf.
As she handed him the receipt, she pointed to the number at the bottom. “That’s your total,” she said, flipping the paper over. “And that’s my number.”
Kent looked up, about to say something as she cut him off.
“I have questions for you, too, Neophyte.”
“Understood,” Kent said, walking out of the store.
For a person who usually tries to have a poker face, Kent Vernon Nelson had a bit of an issue getting the smile off of it.
Russell Keenan was sitting on a bench in the food court of the mall. He would be around any moment, the Hound kept saying. The blonde male with the paper bag. That was who he needed to watch out for.
Sure enough, the Hound had not let him down. He finally got to see him. His target.
He was smiling. Odd, Lord Negal gave him the impression that this person wasn’t supposed to do that. Were any of Lord Negal’s targets able to do that?
No, it must be some sort of good mood. Russell wouldn’t be able to do anything if he was like that. How long could he stay like that, though? Would it have to be something Russell stopped? Could Russell stop it? Or just let it go by?
The Hound circled Russell. Yes, he must act like the Hound. He must wait- wait for the prey to weaken. Then, once it did…
He could pounce.

r/poker $700 Bragging Rights Tourney - Part 2

Hi Guys, I'm here to give the info on the $700 freeroll.
I'd just to say that robswins is a young poker player friend of mine who asked to set this up for the reddit community. But I'm just dropping in to deliver the info in person.
I've really appreciated him in setting things up and representing Hero as a player here. AND robwins has contributed $200 of his own bankroll to make up for last week =)
The info: It is for tomorrow, Saturday Feb 25: 16:00 EST US start time.
The PW is: rpokerFREE69 (the pw is case sensitive)
Prize Pool is: 1st $200 2nd $100 3rd $75 4th $50 5th $40 6th $25 7th $20 8th $15 9th $15 10-26th $10
There is a country restriction, this is because there are established professional sites that hunt and scan for freeroll tournaments, thus decimating the field and pretty much goes against the spirit of a freeroll for a community. If there is a problem with the country selection, then I guess for the next* freeroll we can make adjustments.
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Fiji, Finland, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Guam, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Ireland, Isle Of Man, Israel, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macao, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Province Of China, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela or Viet Nam
Because the prize pool pays out for 26, there needs a minimum of 26 players to join. It is a fun structure: 5000 in starting chips and 5 mins blinds with antes after level 7 and it is 9 handed NLH
There is a 'withdraw play though' on the freeroll winnings, meaning you can play with whatever you win right away (join games, tournaments etc), but you can't withdraw the money directly out of the site until you play x amount with the original amount that you won. But, basically it is your online roll to do with what you want in terms of playing. And there is no requirements for deposit etc, just sign up and play.
Last, Just like to say, a big thanks to robswins for answer questions about Hero Poker as a player. He isn't staff and anyway, I appreciate him doing this for Hero.
Cheers, David Jung Hero Poker CEO
PS If you have any issues that [email protected] can't resolve, just email to [email protected]
Additionally if you haven't registered yet, please do not use a hotmail, live or msn account; those groups of ms accounts to filter our verification emails, not all the time, but enough times to make it a pain =)
